What's so wonderful about decopatch?

Whether you call it decopatch, or decoupage - basically we are talking about decorating an item with paper - and in Rainbow Jane style, we would also add on options of paint, glitter, sequins , buttons and basically anything else colourful!

It's so easy to do... we are tearing or cutting and sticking and transforming something that looked pretty ordinary, tatty or old, into something arty and interesting. No rules to follow ... choose your papers, either decopatch papers, tissue paper or napkins, cut it or tear it, put glue on the object - stick on - and then glue over.

Its such a joy to do and every piece is unique. Its simple enough, that you can chat while doing it, enjoy a cuppa and simply relax as you craft.

At Rainbow Jane craft sessions, there's always a range of items you can choose to decopatch, or bring along something that you would like to upcycle and transform. One of the most effective things I have done recently is to take our old place mats and decopatch them - now they look colourful and fabulous on the table.

You can decopatch virtually anything - once you get the bug, everything in your home is potentially something you'll want to give a new lease of life to! For me, even the inside of our motorhome is turning into a decopatch glory.

I'm looking forward to welcoming ladies from the Meanwood WI to a Rainbow Jane Decopatch session at home, and soon I'll post dates for a Tuesday decopatch session at the Myrtle. Rainbow Jane is also happy to do bespoke sessions for small groups, either here or at your venue. All sessions are pay as you feel with all donations going to Zarach and Alzheimers - or you can donate through the Rainbow Jane Just Giving links at the top and bottom of the page.
