Rainbow Jane and the Big Bunting Challenge - May 22nd

Have you read about the Big Bunting Challenge on Facebook?

What a fabulous idea - making lots of bunting to brighten up Meanwood, for the Jubilee and to create a stash of colourful bunting that can be used for local events.

A great craft challenge for Rainbow Jane to get involved in...

As we need to create lots of bunting - the Rainbow Jane bunting will be quick and easy, so all the family can join in. No need for a sewing machine or sewing skills - this is the 'crafty' way to make brilliant bunting.

First, I have a great cutting machine and a cutting die that cuts the pendant shapes. So bring along those old hawaiian shirts and any other colourful cotton and lets chop it into pendant shapes. There's also fabric here that you can use.

Then if you want to add buttons and sequins - go for it!

If you want to sew - there's plenty of colourful threads - but glue will be available too.

We'll attach the pendants to a length of hessian binding, and hey presto! Rainbow bunting for the Big Bunting Challenge! You can also make some extra to take home too.

So that I can help everyone get started - the slots are hourly on Eventbrite, but you can stay as long as you like... but it means that just a small group will arrive in the hour and will be able to cut bunting and choose everything they need. Also time for me to run through the process with you and make you a cuppa! Seating in the Rainbow Jane shed is limited, especially as we'll have the cutting machine out, and other bits and pieces, so come prepared to sit in the garden to sew. (weather permitting!)

As always, donations for Alzheimer's & / or Zarach, the 2 charities that Rainbow Jane supports, will be gratefully received. Donate at the event or use the Just Giving links at the top of the Rainbow Jane website.

If you can't make the event and want to be involved, get in touch and we'll find a way!
