Together, remembering Dorothea...
Thank you to my friends and family who came yesterday and joined a special Rainbow Jane Craft session in memory of my mum, Dorothea. The sun shone down on us and it was so lovely to enjoy crafting together. Some beautiful glass painting and rock painting took place, along with lots of cuppas and some great cake -especially the delicious coffee cake made by Sam.
Thank you to those that stayed into the evening and had supper. We raised our glasses to Dorothea... I've planted a special rose pot, with a yellow fragrant rose, called 'Our dream,' and some little yellow flowers for mum. I've put the fish which I painted before and she had kept at her house in the pot, a sunshine stone and a beautiful stone that Loraine painted for her yesterday.
When it went dark, I hung the glass baubles that I had painted for up in the tree and lit candles for her...
I feel that Dorothea would have approved of the how we have celebrated her life this week... the flowers, the sunshine and most importantly, friends and family, together sharing food, drinks and creativity. Thank you to everyone for all their kindness and support over the last few weeks.
I have updated our Just Giving site, with another £100 for Alzheimer's society.
